For the second consecutive year the Athenaeum presents the work of the San Diego Art Prize recipients. The San Diego Art Prize spotlights established San Diego artists together with emerging artists. A panel of local art administrators selects the established artists and they, in turn, select an emerging artist. In 2011 the winners were Jay Johnson with emerging artist Adam Belt and Rubén Ortiz-Torres with emerging artist Tristan Shone….
‘NEVER FORGET THE IMAGE STRUGGLE!’ at the TOP Contemporary Art Center
The exhibition Never Forget The Image Struggle! was inspired by the famous sentence: “Never forget class struggle!”. This slogan and its deterrent tone was unforgettable during its time. On view from December 9 to December 25 at the TOP Contemporary Art Center, the exhibition includes the artists: MadeIn Company, Zhang Ding, Zhou Xiaohu, TOF group, Jin Feng, Shi Qing, Zhang Xian+Hipic, Shao Yi, He An, Shi Yong, and Yang Zhenzhong.
